Turkey is seeking to increase its trade volume with Libya to $5 billion, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat said following talks in Istanbul with Libya’s Minister of Economy and Trade, Suhail Aboushiha.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to achieving the target and discussed ways to strengthen economic and trade cooperation, including preparations for a Turkish-Libyan Business and Investment Forum to expand partnerships between companies and business leaders in both countries.
The talks also focused on challenges facing Turkish contracting companies operating in Libya and efforts to address them, as well as improving the legal framework governing trade and investment to facilitate business expansion and the launch of new projects.
