Israel and Greece Move to Deepen Economic Partnership

Sharren Haskel and Harry Theoharis met this week to strengthen economic cooperation between Israel and Greece, highlighting growing trade and investment ties between the two countries.

Following the meeting, Haskel said economic relations between Israel and Greece are currently at “an all-time high,” with major opportunities for further collaboration across key sectors including water technology, cybersecurity and agriculture.

“By bridging Israeli innovation in water tech, cyber, and agriculture with Greek growth engines, we are creating unprecedented opportunities,” Haskel wrote in a post on X.

The two deputy foreign ministers agreed to establish a formal economic dialogue mechanism between their foreign ministries, aimed at expanding bilateral trade and boosting investment cooperation.

Haskel described the initiative as another step in transforming the strategic relationship between Israel and Greece into “tangible results.”

The meeting reflects the increasingly close partnership between Athens and Jerusalem in recent years, with cooperation expanding across energy, defense, technology, tourism and regional security.
