Israel-UK Innovation Conference Held at the London Stock Exchange

Twenty-two Israeli companies and venture capital funds presented technological solutions to dozens of senior investors from the City.

An Israeli-British innovation conference was held yesterday (Wednesday) at the London Stock Exchange building, despite the ongoing boycott campaign against Israel. The conference was meant to strengthen technological and business cooperation between the two countries, and to show that economic ties between them continue to operate at full strength even in a complex political and international period.

The initiative to hold the event was shared by the London Stock Exchange, the economic attaché office of the Foreign Trade Administration in the United Kingdom, and the Israel Export Institute.

The three bodies joined together to give Israeli companies seeking to expand in the British market a stage, and to present to international investors the potential in Israeli technology. Cooperation among the organizers reflected Israel and Britain’s mutual commitment to developing business ties between them.

Prominent participants included London Stock Exchange CEO Julia Hoggett, Foreign Trade Administration Director Roi Fisher, and Israel’s economic attaché in London, Matan Safran. Alongside them were senior representatives from the investment community and leading technology companies, underscoring how much importance both sides attach to the technological partnership and its continued development.

At the event itself, 22 Israeli companies presented innovative solutions with the potential to transform entire industries and address complex global challenges. Alongside them, 10 leading venture capital funds also presented, having come to survey opportunities in the Israeli technology arena and examine investment options in growing companies.

The solutions presented covered cybersecurity, fintech, cleantech, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. These are fields in which Israeli companies have an established international reputation and a proven ability to develop breakthrough technologies that can answer challenges facing entire industries around the world.

The audience included dozens of senior investors from the City of London. Among those present were representatives of multinational companies, institutional investors, and private equity firms, who came to examine Israeli innovation up close.

Investment funds and family offices that manage portfolios of many billions also sent representatives to the event. That broad presence attested to genuine, ongoing interest in Israeli technology, and to the British financial community’s willingness to keep investing in it.

The large turnout shows that British demand for Israeli innovation remains solid and continues to grow. Trade between Israel and Britain currently stands at more than six billion pounds sterling, a figure that reflects the depth of economic ties between the two countries and the potential for continued growth and development of the commercial partnership.

According to the organizers, the figures are evidence of the mutual trust that businesses and investors on both sides have in one another. That trust makes it possible to keep creating new opportunities and to continue developing the business partnership between the countries.

Holding the conference at the London Stock Exchange, one of the most prominent symbols of the British financial world, sends a clear and unequivocal message. Even amid the boycott storm, business and technological ties between Israel and Britain continue to strengthen and bear fruit.
